How to Use Brand Ambassadors or Influencers to Promote your Boutique

By Leave a Comment

Are you wondering how all of these online boutiques are getting influencers and brand ambassadors to promote their boutique?

This is part 4 in my 4 part series where I’m discussing 4 different ways that you can launch your online boutique. Check out all 4 here.

Alright, so how does one go about getting their product promoted all over social media without paid ads?

I have discovered a way to actually get these influencers and brand ambassadors to come to ME instead of me reaching out to them and having to send tons of DM’s and emails just to get no responses.

To get started, if you don’t know what a brand ambassador or influencer is, a brand ambassador is a person who is paid to endorse or promote a particular company’s products or services and an influencer is a person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media.

The benefit of using brand ambassadors and influencers is that it quickly can build credibility for your brand. I know that when I see someone that I follow on social media promote a dress for example, I’m more likely to buy it because of who is promoting it rather than seeing a stock photo image of a model being advertised to me.

It makes it real because someone I admire and am already following is vouching for the product and you can see what the item might look like when a normal person is wearing it or using it as opposed to just the company showing it to me in an advertisement.

Now, I’m sure that all sounds great to you, but I know you want to know how to get these brand ambassadors and influencers to wear your product and show it on their social media.

This is also great, because you can then repost their images and stories to your boutique’s social media accounts instead of constantly coming up with your own content to publish.

Here is a strategy that has worked tremendously well for me...

First, it’s important to have aesthetically pleasing social media photos. I really can’t stress enough how important this one is because this is how you’re going to attract your ideal brand ambassador or influencer.

If they see a bunch of photos of your product with bad lighting or low quality posts, they won’t want to rep your brand and suggest it to their followers because their followers trust them.

They want to feel good about what they’re promoting and what their followers are buying. You really want them to be excited about your brand when they visit your social media pages and your website.

Ok, so once you have your social media pages and website in order, you’re going to make a post and story on your Instagram and say you’re searching for brand ambassadors and instruct them to DM you for more info. Then save your story as a Highlight titled “Ambassadors”.

It could be something as simple as this:

And now you’re ready to drive traffic to your Instagram page and brand ambassadors and influencers will start to DM you. Once they contact you, you’ll send them an application so that you can review and make sure that they’re a good fit for your brand.

Another tip is to not expect your brand ambassadors to have tens or hundreds of thousands of followers. While this would be great, I accept ambassadors with as little as 7 or 800 followers. Because again they’re real people and that’s what my customers respond to.

Ok, if you’re wondering how to drive traffic to your social media pages or website, make sure to check out Videos 1-3 in this series which are all traffic driving strategies. They are Organic, Paid advertising, and through all of your social media channels.

The strategy that I use the most in all of my businesses are Facebook and Instagram ads – so paid advertising.

Why? Because this gets me results the fastest and I’m an impatient person. 🙂

Ok, now I bet you’re thinking you’re going to run ads to your brand ambassador post…. And that’s a big NOPE!

You are actually not even going to mention brand ambassadors in your ads. You are going to continue to run your product ads which I teach you how to do in my online course Start a Boutique From Zero to Launch.

When your future ambassador clicks on the link to your ad it’s because they are already interested in your product! So when they see the highlight or post on your feed that you’re looking for a brand ambassador, they’ll already be excited to apply!

So your ads are serving two purposes and you’re getting the most for your advertising budget. You’re making product sales AND recruiting brand ambassadors and influencers. All WITHOUT having to send tons of DM’s to potential ambassadors yourself.

Because to me, that always comes across sleazy and ingenuine which is probably why so many of them go unanswered.

Alright, so now you have tons of ambassadors applying to rep your product. What do you offer them?

I usually like to offer either a discount up to a certain dollar amount. So for example 50% off up to $100 OR free product up to a certain value. I usually let them choose whatever they want from my boutique.

And that’s that you guys! That’s how you can get brand ambassadors and influencers to rep your product without wasting time sending out hundreds of DM’s!

3 Ways to Use Social Media to Launch Your Online Boutique

By Leave a Comment

Today, we’re going to talk about 3 ways you can use social media to launch your new online boutique.

This is part 3 in my 4 part series where I’m discussing 4 different ways that you can launch your online boutique. Check out 1-3 here.

So, maybe you think in order to launch your online boutique on social media that you already need to have a massive following to make sales but I’m here to tell you that that’s just not true!

If you have some sort of social media presence like a profile on Facebook, then you can get started with social selling.

For example, I started a FB group to sell some of my excess boutique inventory and invited about 10 of my friends and told them to invite their friends if they thought it might be something of interest for them.

A few days later my group had over 100 members and I was making daily sales!

So, I don’t want you to be discouraged if you don’t have half a million Instagram followers because you do not need that at all to get started!

First of all, what are the benefits of launching your online boutique on social media?

Well, Social media tends to drive high quality leads. When people can make a connection with you the person behind the brand, comment on your videos, and ask you questions it helps to build trust with your brand.

Your customer will also get a chance to see your items not just from edited pictures of models, but in real time. They will feel more confident in their purchase because you can show the quality and talk to your customer in a way that isn’t available from someone just visiting your website.

All of the ways I’m going to be discussing today, can be linked and integrated with your Shopify store. I am a big fan of having your own domain and website IN ADDITION to selling through other platforms like social media. You know me, I’m allll about having different streams of income. If you haven’t yet signed up for Shopify, here’s the link so you can get started with a 14-day free trial.

Ok, now that we understand the benefits of Social Selling, let’s talk about 3 different ways that you can use social media to launch your online boutique:

1. Going LIVE on FB with CommentSold.

If you haven’t heard of CommentSold before, it’s a software that you can link to facebook that allows people to write in the comments “Sold – Size Small” on your posts or videos and it will automatically create an invoice and send it to your customer so they can pay for it. It looks  something like this:

So, for example you were hosting a LIVE product showcase in your FB group. You would show a style and instruct your viewers to Comment “Sold Size S, M, L” in the comments and then Comment Sold will send them an invoice where they pay and then you can fulfill the order just as you would with any other platform. This is a fun way to get sales because you can really interact with your customers.

2. Hosting a Virtual Fashion Show on Instagram

Now, I can’t take credit for this idea. One of my Start a Boutique From Zero to Launch online course members, Chelsea who owns the boutique CharleyMadelyn, launched her online boutique with a Virtual Fashion Show on Instagram. It was so much fun to attend and it really created a lot of buzz for her launch and she had an incredibly successful launch weekend.

This is how she did it:

She promoted her Virtual Fashion show before the launch on Instagram and she also linked up with other bloggers and brand ambassadors and sent them her product in advance of the fashion show.

When it was time for the Virtual Fashion Show, she went live on Instagram and then would go live with each blogger one at a time to show the items and talk about each one.

This was a great way for her customers to see the items on different body types and also made it a fun little event party online.

3. Setting up a FB or Instagram Shop

First you will want to make sure your products are set up in Shopify. Once you’re set up in Shopify, you’re ready to diversify! You will simply link your Shopify account to your Facebook and Instagram page and set up your own Shop on your social media business account pages – like here on instagram:

And here on facebook:

People will be able to shop directly from your facebook page or Instagram page. Another thing I like to set up with Shopify is Product tagging on Instagram.

Check out what product tagging is in the video below!

And there you have it! Those are the 3 different ways that you can launch your online boutique on social media.

Please make sure to comment below with any questions and also let me know what type of social selling is working for your boutique!

Fueling Your Online Boutique Launch with Facebook Ads

Fueling Your Online Boutique Launch with FB Ads

Wondering how to fuel your online boutique launch with Facebook or Instagram ads?

Does launching your boutique to hundreds or maybe even thousands of dollars of sales sound amazing to you?

This is Part 2 of my 4-part series on How to Launch Your Online Boutique to SALES. If you missed Part 1 – Check it out here!

Launching your online boutique with Facebook ads may be THE FASTEST way to go from $0 to thousands of dollars from one day to the next. Facebook and Instagram ads sound intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it can be an incredible asset to your business and sales.

I’ve spent over 10 years testing out different Facebook and Instagram ads for my businesses, and I have to say, I finally have it figured out – and now i’m sharing it with you!

I can confidently create an online boutique FROM SCRATCH and scale it from $0 to $300/day in just 5 days, which is also the same exact strategy that I teach inside of my online course Start a Boutique From Zero to Launch.

One of my  course students even scaled her online boutique to over $16,000/month in less than 3 months with facebook and Instagram ads. Isn’t that crazy??

So, there is definitely power behind running paid advertising. Now, unlike  launching your boutique with a blog and organic traffic, this is just the opposite. FB/Insta ads require money, you have to spend money to make money!

And if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can get costly very quickly with little to no sales. BUT, when done right, it can be one of the most effective ways to generate sales in your online boutique.

Here are the 3 most important things to consider when launching your boutique with Facebook ads:

1. Know your target customer.

First and foremost, this is the number one issue that will cause you to waste money in ads. You MUST know who your target customer is and advertise to the right audience for Facebook ads to work. Otherwise you are throwing your money away!

2. Have a budget.

Determine what you’re willing to spend on advertising before you begin. Not doing this will cause your spending to be out of control. $5 here and $5 there really start to add up when you’re talking about a daily budget. Make a plan and stick to it.

3. Your creative plan.

What type of ads will you run? Images, Carousel, Video, Dynamic Product ads? At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what type of ad you choose to run, what matters is that you choose one and keep testing until you find what works best for YOUR audience.

Another thing to think about is the copy that will be included with the ad. What are you offering the customer – is it the product itself? A discount? A special promotion?

With these tips, you’ll be well on your way to launching your boutique with Facebook and Instagram ads.

5 Tips to Launch Your Online Boutique with a Blog

5 Tips to Launch Your Online Boutique with a Blog

In this new 4-part series, I’m going to talk about 4 different ways that you can launch your online boutique.

One of the biggest mistakes I see online boutique owners making is not having a boutique launch strategy.

We all know you can’t just put your website live and expect people to magically start buying! NO! You have to promote it!

In this first video of my 4-part series, we’re going to talk about How to Launch Your Boutique with a Blog!

Blogging is a form of organic traffic. And organic traffic means free, BUT it also takes time. If you choose to launch your boutique with a blog, you will want to keep in mind that you will need to be patient to see results.

But according to hubspot.com, businesses that blog regularly generate 55% more visitors to their sites than those that don’t.

Let’s talk about how you can get in on that action:

First, you’ll need to set up a boutique blog.

I recommend using Shopify as your platform for your online boutique. Shopify makes it super easy to add a blog right to your website with just a few clicks.

Shopify has a 14-day free trial if you haven’t gotten started yet, so you can begin setting up your website.

Also, like to batch my blog posts and content, which means that I will spend one or two days writing multiple blogs posts and then schedule them in advance to be published.

That makes creating and writing go so much faster and then I don’t have to worry about it again for another month and I can focus on other boutique tasks.

Here are my 5 tips to writing successful blog posts for your boutique:

1. Write blog posts around your boutique’s products.

Don’t write random posts, make sure they have a direction and a focus to bring your potential customer to buy your products.

2. Link to your products in your blog posts.

Make it easy for you customer to buy. Give them the links and tell them where they can go to buy. Personally, I like to link to my products 3-5 times in a post.

3. Write posts with 1,000+ words.

I know this sounds like a lot, but it’s really important to write quality content that has value – because that’s what google likes.

4. Add lots of images, infographics, and examples.

Posts with images do better than posts without images. Make sure to showcase your products with quality images.

5. Promote, promote, promote your posts everywhere.

Repurpose your blog content to social media, Pinterest, etc.

Launching your online boutique with a blog is a great way to drive organic traffic to your website and to find new customers.

Make sure to look out for next week’s video where I’m going to talk about the second way you can launch your online boutique and that is with paid advertising!
